EID AT BINTANG

Eid is the Festival of Sacrifice in Islam. It is the final of two Eid festivals that occur throughout the year for our Muslim community. It is the holiest of the two and marks the end of the holy month of Ramadan - which also coincides with the Islamic pilgrimage Hajj. On this day our Muslim friends celebrate Ibrahim’s faithfulness to Allah, who was willing to sacrifice his son Ismail. Before the sacrifice, Ismail was replaced with a lamb.

EID SPECIAL: BEEF KULMA

The Beef Kulma at Bintang is inspired by the Tausug people’s (a Muslim ethnic group in Mindanao) Beef Kulma that closely resembles a Korma. The dish can be described as being a combination of the Filipino peanut-based Kare-Kare stew and a coco-nutty beef curry. (Read our article about the Muslim population in the Philippines here)

Our Kulma will only be available for this weekend’s August 10th - 11th Eid special. Come on over to Bintang and try our version of the traditional Mindanao Kulma.
